Federal Funding Opportunities for the State

On April 22, 2022, WiRE hosted a panel discussion luncheon on opportunities to make Federal Funding work for the State. On November 15, 2021, President Joe Biden signed historic legislation into law to provide $1 trillion in funding to be shared between states and local governments under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (also known as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act or IIJA). This presentation focused on how we can get ahead of the game and understand how these funds will be deployed for energy efficiency and clean energy opportunities that benefit Hawaii.

Panelists:

  • Commissioner Leo Asuncion, State of Hawaii, Public Utilities Commission
  • Amy Asselbaye, Executive Director, City & County of Honolulu, Office of Economic Revitalization

Moderated by Caroline Carl, Interim Executive Director, Hawaii Energy
