WiRE Breakfast: Balance at the Intersection of Land, Clean Energy and Indigeneity

On March 4, 2020 WiRE hosted a breakfast and panel discussion with local leaders to explore their organizations’ priorities, their vision of Hawaii’s energy future and discuss how communities, industry and decision makers may best come together at ‘intersections’ to develop trusted partnerships and facilitate the planning and implementation of projects. More than 60 WiRE members joined the conversation.

Moderator:

  • Ulalia Woodside, Executive Director, The Nature Conservancy of Hawai’i

The panelists include:

  • Laurien “Lala” Nuss, Climate Resilience & Equity Manager OCCSR
  • Stephany Vaioleti, Accessibility and Affordability Manager, Hawaii Energy
  • Chris Yunker, Energy Systems and Planning Program Manager, Hawaii State Energy Office

Hawaii is a global thought-leader, forging ahead with the transformation of our energy future to one that is clean, resilient and equitable. A big step toward achieving these goals occurs with the implementation of projects that are in alignment with community priorities and vision. Finding balance at the Intersection of Land, Clean Energy and Indigeneity is critical to maintaining a path forward toward our transformative energy future.
