WiRE Luncheon: Federal Funding Opportunities for the State

The Pacific Club April 22, 2022 11:30 am
On Friday, April 22, 2022, WiRE hosted a panel discussion luncheon on opportunities to make Federal Funding work for the State of Hawaii.

On November 15, 2021, President Joe Biden signed historic legislation into law to provide $1 trillion in funding to be shared between states and local governments under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (also known as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act or IIJA).  This presentation was the first in a two-part series on how we can get ahead of the game and understand how these funds will be deployed for energy efficiency and clean energy opportunities that benefit Hawaii.
The following panelists joined us for this first in-person event together since early 2020:

  • Commissioner Leo Asuncion, State of Hawaii, Public Utilities Commission
  • Amy Asselbaye, Executive Director, City & County of Honolulu, Office of Economic Revitalization
  • Moderated by Caroline Carl, Executive Director, Hawaii Energy
